Grendel: Devil's Sketchbook grendel: war child has been the first indie book i read when i came back into the comics fold, after the compulsory pause upon discovery of girls at age 12/13. i saw the simon bisley cover on the store's rack and went 'oh f*ck! what the hell is that?': sure there was a certain difference from the good ol' wholesome spiderman i was used to and the hulking, clawed behemoth i had in front of me at that moment. i picked the issue up, paid for it, got out of the store and sat on my ducati to read it: i got hooked on the spot! |
