My wife had been on a couple of cruises with her girlfriends, on small Italian Line ships, but this was my first vacation like that, on the Royal Caribbean Line ship: "Sovereign of the Seas", which is a quaint little vessel now, but at the time was (I think) the largest cruise ship afloat.
