My sketchbook is a space for fluid exploration—where brush pen and black ink open a direct line to thought and movement. I’m drawn to the immediacy of ink: bold, unpredictable, and full of contrast.
It captures energy in the moment, lending weight to each mark I make. Pens and markers add balance with precision and saturated clarity, offsetting the organic motion of the brush with their structured intent.
There’s something timeless about these materials. Ink on paper carries a sense of permanence—even when the marks are spontaneous, even when the composition is abstract or dreamlike.
I often sketch in cafés and public spaces where life is unfolding, using what’s around me to feed into the rhythm of the page. Sometimes I’m guided by memory, sometimes by motion—but always by the line before the one I’m about to draw.
That’s the rhythm I trust: letting each stroke suggest the next.
